Global Tech News: Breakthrough Capacitive Touch Sensor Unveiled in Taiwan Expo
At Touch Taiwan 2026 held in late March, German firms PolyIC and Nanomade launched the world's first fully transparent capacitive touch film integrated with force-sensing technology, marking a key upgrade to traditional projected capacitive touch screens. This ultra-thin flexible sensor uses transparent nanoparticle ink, realizing precise pressure detection and multi-touch input on the same panel. It suits automotive smart cockpits, medical equipment and foldable consumer gadgets, cutting module thickness by nearly 30% while keeping high touch accuracy. Market analysts forecast the global capacitive touch screen market will top $35 billion in 2026, driven by EV large displays and industrial HMI demand. Asia-Pacific remains the core production base, with manufacturers rushing to mass-produce this new dual-function touch film to grab high-end market share.
