Capacitive touch screens generally provide higher quality and better user experience than traditional resistive touch screens. This reference design shows how to connect a capacitive touch display to the Sitara AM437x processor. The display has an integrated touch screen controller that connects to the AM437x through its I2C port.

Its main features are as follows:

1. Color 7-inch TFT LCD panel with capacitive touch user interface

2. WVGA 800x480 pixel resolution with 24-bit RGB interface

3. The LCD interface is connected to the integrated DSS (display subsystem) of the Sitara AM437x processor

4. The capacitive touch screen is connected to the Sitara AM437x processor through I2C

5.27 white LEDs for backlight control TPS61081 PWM controlled LED driver

6. The power required by the LCD is provided by the TPS65105 linear regulator power supply.

7. A complete subsystem reference, with schematics, BOM, design files and hardware user guides, implemented on a fully assembled board developed for testing and verification.
